About Jillana Kucey, Soprano
Often praised for the power and dramatic expression of her voice, Jillana has always had a passion for singing. She received her MM in vocal performance in classical voice from NYU. Most recently she can be seen as Amore in Opera Cecilia's production of Orfeo ed Euridice, marking her debut with the company and with film work. Previously, Jillana performed the role of Marcellina with New York Lyric opera theater at Opera America. With a background in improvisational theater, she elicited quite a few laughs with her humorous interpretation of the Figaro's demanding mother. She was a participant in Halifax Summer Opera Festival with the roles of Volupia and Hero in L'Egisto.
Furthermore, Jillana has experienced choral/chorus singing in her young artist programs and through University Singers at University of Portland. She has also had experience cantoring and singing at weddings. |
